@gotapen.bsky.social
Queer therapist, student, reader, writer, Londoner. Interested in all of that + nature, kink and general mayhem. This is my personal account mostly for lurking/ seeing what's going on/ chatting shit
I was just saying this to a friend.
The far right turnout today is much smaller than the number of people who came to protest at London Trans Pride this year, but the far right will of course get infinitely more press coverage.

Have been a bit distant from all things news and social media because I've been generally overwhelmed and - well ~waves in the direction of All The Shit

I completely forgot I have a personal bluesky account! I am just catching up on it. How are you all doing?

On my way to the Dyke March with a bag full of flags, suncream, energy drinks and salty snacks so that we can smash the patriarchy without melting

Without downloading any new pics, where are you at mentally?

And then got homophobic abuse on the way home.
It was fine. But momentarily unnerving and my feelings are all over the place.

Went to see a play about section 28. It unlocked a bunch of memories I had buried and i cried so hard my tshirt got wet so that was fun.

Ran into the composer afterwards and told him "I've never been so comprehensively broken by a play"
'sorry... But, thank you?'

We all saw this coming but I thought it would take longer. Turns out this really is the speedrun version of The End Of America

Nothing like getting a migraine on a bank holiday weekend while out of meds to make you really appreciate how helpful triptrans are.
Finally got some this afternoon after two days of lying in the dark feeling sorry for myself and it is amazing to feel more human again

To mark the 1st day of my 4th year without Alice I have an announcement:
I’ve joined up with a determined group of women working to change the narrative around trans people. Women standing in solidarity with our trans siblings.

Our first step is to ask cis women to read and sign our open letter ⬇️
Not in our name: Women in support of the trans+ community
Can you spare a minute to help this campaign?

Yesterday I locked myself out of my phone for 4 hours because I forgot my unlock pattern. Which is a very unnerving feeling. This morning I forgot that phones can be used to make calls which was funnier
Could be migraine prodrome, hormones or general overwhelm, who knows.

Shout-out to my local library which is open until 8pm on Thursdays meaning I could still go & write after a very annoying day. And to the very kind librarian who made it her personal mission to help me print my dissertation draft when the normal print system went down. Libraries are awesome.

OK, this is wild.

In September 2023, geophysicists across the world started monitoring a very odd signal coming from the ground under them.

It was picked up in the Arctic. And Antarctica. It was detected everywhere, every 90 seconds, as regular as a metronome, for *nine days*.

What the HELL?

Holy shit Pride in London actually taking a stand over something?!
Don't get me wrong I'm happy to see it, just would never have bet on it happening

Trans and being told by your employer you can no longer use the toilets at work (especially if not out to all your colleagues)?

A cis woman who has been challenged when using the toilet?

Otherwise affected by the SC judgment?

Sitting on my already very delayed flight waiting for it to start taxiing, and the pilot just made an announcement to say "strangely the plane can't move. We have ground crew looking at it" 😮
Not a sentence you really want to hear on an aeroplane

there is a strand of feminism that has abandoned the women's liberation in favour of security and literal border-policing

Trans women are women and no court judgement can change that. Without wanting to diminish the negative effect that legal oppression has on trans lives, there is no reason why lawyers and judges are qualified to make this argument over actual experts in the field.
