The children, with the help of their grown-ups, practised threading and sewing skills, carefully fluffed the stuffing to give their cats shape, and learned how to use fabric scissors safely to cut their fabric pieces. It was a lovely session full of creativity and teamwork. (2/4)

Our annual Remembrance Ceremony brought the whole school together yesterday to honour those who have fallen in conflict. The service featured a parade, a reading from Mr Sellars, and The Last Post performed beautifully by William G (Year 12). (1/2)

On Tuesday, our Year 9 students had the opportunity to visit the Imperial War Museum and The Old Operating Theatre Museum in London. The purpose of the trip was to deepen their understanding of World War 1 (studied in Year 9) and to give them an introduction to the GCSE History of Medicine topic.

The GHS Choir will participate in a series of workshops this academic year, leading up to a special concert in the Summer Term, where they will be joined by students from other schools to perform alongside the prestigious Oxford Bach Choir. (2/2)

On the Thursday before the half term break, we were pleased to welcome Rachel Bowen from the Oxford Bach Choir, who led a singing workshop with the school choir. The session focused on developing vocal technique in preparation for a workshop the students will be attending at Greyfriars School. (1/2)

Six Year 9 students attended a STEM workshop yesterday, run by Intertronics. They enjoyed talks from professionals, hands-on activities and team challenges. The day was eye-opening and encouraged students to consider STEM careers while learning that growth comes through curiosity and experience.

As part of their OCR A Level Geography course, Year 13 students complete four fieldwork days, designed to bring their classroom learning to life through hands-on investigation. On Tuesday, the group visited Wytham Woods, one of the most studied woodland ecosystems in the world. (1/3)

All of our students were encouraged to wear something yellow to demonstrate their support for YoungMind's 'Hello Yellow' campaign. The PALs students hosted a bake sale at lunchtime, which was well-attended, as ever! We raised £827.56 for YoungMinds in total, which is absolutely superb 🙌🏼 🌟 (2/2)

With around 80% of cardiac arrests occurring at home, this training could make a crucial difference – giving someone experiencing a sudden cardiac arrest the best possible chance of survival. Thank you to Russell and Erik, who volunteer their time to support this inspiring programme. (3/3)

The event was part of ‘Restart a Heart’, a national initiative organised by the Resuscitation Council UK and the British Heart Foundation, which aims to raise awareness about cardiac arrest and equip people with CPR skills. (2/3)
