I enjoyed the first 10ish hours of Veilguard. The writing wasn't great but it wasn't terrible. But over time more and more flaws in the story/character writing kept creeping through. I hit a point about 16 hours in that made me roll my eyes so hard I just closed the game and haven't played since lol

I tried making a human and everything I tried sucked lmao I ended up making a pretty good male dwarf that I was happy with. Mostly cuz I could cover the face up with a big beard and longer hair
