My criticism of Shapiro and Atkins is that they can't create a perennial contender because they aren't brave enough to either extend or trade away players before they reach free agency. If you always pay market prices you can't maintain the budget over time.

Does Shapiro have the juice to keep Atkins around for another rebuild? I really have no idea how happy Rogers is with Shapiro or Atkins, so who knows who oversees the upcoming rebuild.

It also depends on the direction of the team, I don't think it was Atkins alone that went from wanting four bats to a pre-rebuild offseason. If this is their last shot should they get a better manager? if they're doing a rebuild there's really no rush to move Schneider.

I'd agree if Turner were a younger man. Not that I don't think he'll improve, the Jays shouldn't place too big of a bet on him being immortal.

I think Schneider is a fine hitter and one of the best options, but since they moved Springer they should maybe just go with their best two hitters. Part time player to full time leadoff hitter is a lot of pressure.

Has the thinking gone completely towards prioritizing PAs for the best hitter over trying to fit them to the spot(e.g. high OBP leadoff versus just highest OPS for leadoff)?

Why don't they use Jansen in the cleanup spot? If Bo gets going he'd be better batting second or third, right? maybe leadoff if Schneider cools?

Talent is there, but this team doesn't work without a good bullpen. Hopefully they turn it around soon.

If addiction were contained to homeless camps Americans wouldn't even care. Accessibility is definitely a factor even if you want to debate how much(addiction rates are different in different countries)

I wouldn't recommend avoiding the fentanyl crisis by aiming for the impossible goal of getting rid of drug addiction.

I don't mean illegal drugs, I mean oxy should be regulated. For currently illegal drugs I mean regulated by like food and safety regulations to make sure it isn't cut with dangerous chemicals(ie fentanyl).

I mean that's a private healthcare/over prescribing doctors problem. It's only a regulation problem in that doctor prescriptions aren't regulated enough.
