i've only seen the tatami-adjacent movie night is short but i really liked it. i GOTTA watch tatami galaxy. and CITY was on my radar as well because i love the mangaka...

i do think this has created a type of anime where all of the appeal is extremely front-loaded and the endings are kind of weak. but im basing this off of my opinion on girls band cry, where the ending really isnt that great and they were clearly setting up for a season 2 that hasnt come.
