A democratic socialist is not a communist. Trump is not a social democratic capitalist, he is a fascist. It’s a matter of degree.

YouTube videos claim Russia has several ships deployed to defend Venezuela. They have hypersonic missiles that are virtually unstoppable, so the carrier is a sitting duck. An attack is going to be a disaster.

They wanted to make sure the budget passed before they voted no. It’s the logical explanation. They would have voted for it if necessary to avoid an election they would lose in a landslide.

We are well on the way, especially in Alberta. Ironically, I believe the fossil fuel industry took over the propaganda machine to silence the climate change people. In the process they funded the hard right wing as natural allies, and democracy is failing as a consequence.

massive harm and some deaths. This is political violence as well. Ending Roe versus Wade as abortion law killed many women- political violence as well. This administration decries political violence only when it happens to them and theirs. Scale does not make their actions less horrendous.

While Garland could have done much more, most of Trumps support was from a populist wave unhappy with the distribution of wealth, under both parties.
Trump was the one able to credibly capture this demand for change. He lied, as the poor are finding out now, but the damage is done.
