The council’s loss is the hospital’s gain, I‘d like to think that his visit to the nurse that day ignited a small flame within him to eventually pursue a life dedicated to medicine!

Whilst left in charge of some friends‘ two year old about 25 years ago, he fell off a stool I’d plonked him on, onto a tiled floor. We were at a resort so I was able to take him to a nurse immediately. He is now a junior doctor, so I don’t think it did him permanent damage!

The first concert I ever went to, in Liverpool Stadium (the wrestling venue, not the football one!). I felt like I was deaf for days afterwards!

Absolutely! I think that the introduction of computers was being mooted before my Mum retired, as I remember her saying that she’d rather do it all they way she always had, as it was basically a simple, transparent system.

Good luck, I hope it gets sorted out soon! My Mum ran a sub-post office, and thankfully retired a few years before the system was introduced. Likewise all the accounts were handwritten as she worked, she was able to just look at a column of figures and very quickly add them up in her head!

I heard that the other day, and agree it was really interesting. I had stupidly never realised that Trowse was built by Colmans to house their workers. It inspired me to have a look at the old school in Trowse, vacated in 2020. I cycle past it regularly but had never taken a look before today…
