Happy Tartan Day from the Winnipeg Centennial Maple Leaf Choir (1976 edition)… in our fetching Maple Leaf tartan uniforms. I am easy to spot because my head is twice as large as anyone else’s… and I am 1 of only 3 boys left in this “mixed” choir.

My mother's birthday was on St Patrick's Day, so she liked to wear a Kiss Me I'm Irish button. Invariably, people would look at this short brown woman in green and ask, "You're Irish?" She would ALWAYS reply, "I'm Irish coffee!" Later she took to wearing a button roughly doctored like this... 🇮🇪🇸🇬🇨🇦

The markets are tanking because of Trump's tariffs... but you wouldn't know from the Fox News homepage. One huge reason we're screwed: It's a different world over there. The lies and obfuscation are outrageous.

In Rohmer’s 1974 follow-up, Exxoneration, Canadian forces outfox a haphazard US invasion with a plan called Operation Reception Party, where some American forces are taken hostage, forcing a humiliating retreat. #booksky #elbowsup

The best Eurasian villain in cinema has to be Dr. No, the German/Chinese psychopathic scientist with exquisite taste from the first-ever Bond film in 1962. Dastardly accomplishments aside, No can't quite match Bond's suave Eurocentricity. Dom Pérignon '55, indeed. What a parvenu.

Anna Leonowens of The King and I fame wasn’t a Welsh-born British governess as she claimed but a Eurasian from Bombay. Widowed young, she moved to Singapore and revised her biography, becoming a teacher. That's when the Siamese consul hired her to teach the Thai king’s numerous wives and children.
