Corbyn got more votes than Starmer in 2019. Starmers Labour will/have do some good things but they are not the ‘change’ that the poorest in the uk need. They do not represent working class people and are bad at pretending that they do. There legacy will be opening the door for far right.

There is a lovely hint of revenge every time we do someone from a corner or out muscle some 5.8 midfielder. Arteta must feel this more than anyone having been that midfielder in those teams.

While Labour will no doubt implement some policies that will benefit the country. Inequality is staggering and growing and any party that does not address this falls short for me.

I was not alive in the 60’s but my view is that mabye some of that ‘feeling’ has been destroyed. weakening of union movement, Murdoch media, the move right of the Labour Party. I would say the working class most definitely exists but feels excluded from many left wing/discourse.

Ok. I agree so even outside of Labour division has been a problem. In the uk Novara media and Owen Jones criticised Corbyn at a crucial moment during the “antisemitism” scandal. These are only two voices that get anywhere near media and I believe the criticism was incredibly damaging.

I agree ‘the left’ needs to find a way to compete. The problem (at least in the uk) is that the ideological purity test has been over support for the slaughter of thousands of people. It’s a big red line for many. Are we counting Labour as left?

Trump takes over on January 20th. Until then Russia also has weapons. In the uk we need to ask questions of those who empowered the oligarchs in the first place.
