Imo there are only 2 players that would play the same across teams - Pedri and Jude. Everyone else depends. Frenkie would be a bad addition in that Madrid team. For this barca team Casado is more valuable than Fede because their skillset is different (even though Fede is the better player).

That's my point Sam - there is no such team. I cannot pick it. Players are dynamic. What they can do surrounded by one set of players could be different when surrounded by different set. IMHO that's where the beauty of football lies - in that unpredictability. Combined teams robs us of that beauty.

I think this whole combined XI nonsense was when football discourse went into the gutter. It means nothing. Most players lose context outside of a team/playing style and importantly the coach. It's just sad to see such juvenile nonsense be a topic among mainstream media.
