For a little over year now I've been doing (roughly) monthly movie nights with my grandmother. We just hit a nice round number of 16 watched and I think this is a pretty good collection :)

Watching this for some reason. It's not great or anything but it's nice to see a post-The Office mockumentary sitcom that is actually, you know, a mockumentary and not just a normal sitcom with side-eyes to the camera. There's cutaways and candid filming and conversations with the cameramen!

If nothing else, it's crazy to see this "Hillary Stormborn of House Clinton" bullshit turned back against the Dem power structures who fomented it. Gotta have some hope that somehow, some way, these fascist-enabling monsters will get what's coming to them.

Lot of options (TV Glow, Sinners, Zone of Interest) but a small-scale one I really enjoy is the anti-climax of Eephus; it's just so perfectly awkward and lonely and human. Perfectly captures the feeling of getting important words caught in your throat right up until there's no more time to say them.

Fascinated by the logic here. "Everyone is 12 now" has quickly joined "Israel-coded" as a buzzphrase that just signals your disagreement with something, because I'd say that "if your joke isn't funny you're a moron" is ABSOLUTELY the opinion a 12 year old would hold on the matter

Genuinely unreal ad here, to see this whole line in perspective. Basically impossible to imagine one publisher releasing so many edgy, experimental, all-timer comics like this at one time now
