Coloured pen and glued paper on translated extract from Voltaire's Micromégas. By Eva, aged 4.

Would definitely cut the mustard in some art exhibitions. Title suggestions sought.

SOMEWHAT last minute writing of French Studies paper (I'm only joining you all at #SFS2025 on Weds), and as you'll see, this really is work in progress...

In our household, 2024 will go down as the Christmas of the giant trampoline (constructed in dark drizzle on Christmas Eve), the spacehopper (had to appear in all family photos) and the unicorn (present in more forms than you can imagine across 3 year old's presents). Santé, all!

The annual Julia Donaldson Christmas parental pause.... Happy Christmas all!

Tree done, a full 12 days before the final admissions meeting for which it now traditionally forms the backdrop (and which signals the start of the holidays).

6 y.o. dictating a play to me. With the following stage direction: '(whilst playing on the stage with non-dangerous things that we can play with on a stage)'. Taking risk assessments seriously at a young age.

I knew keeping all those half finished sheets from sticker books was worth it (twenty minutes relative calm on a rainy day)

Just did 4.5 hours of tutorial teaching non-stop, with another hour to come after brief break, and my brain feels even less organised than this table might suggest.

With thanks to Queens Translation exchange (among others) - I think I should keep this badge for all classes!

Somehow, impossibly, it's 20 years since we all met here. So we've had a lovely weekend of nostalgia, food, drink and chat.

My assistant is eating at her desk.... Bad habits!

Aspirational, as opposed to accurate, at this point in the rush towards term.

Reading long French book on sofa in my parents' front room and feeling very summer of 2005 (pre-second year, massive reading list). Except for the Disney film playing next door.
