In case you don't know the original 3DS charging cradle didn't work like the switch dock, two little metal prongs connected to two metal plates on the 3DS and charged it, bypassing the port entirely.

The one and only time I've ever felt compelled to get another handheld purely for aesthetics it was the Midnight Blue one that was a Toys R Us exclusive, still have it.

Directed by Matsuno before he went to Square to make FFT. It's a less refined game but still great in its own right. Very difficult and much harder to "break" though so YMMV.
