Linux is used extensively by industry experts because we tend to know how to use it. But Linux does not hold a significant share of average users for all the reasons you mentioned. Users want it to *just work* out of the box and the primary Linux distros do not.

Totally understandable. There’s good food out on the east side up by Mississippi (and really everywhere in the city). You’re gonna love being in Portland.
