Maybe don’t paywall an article about a fire hazard recall?

The salaries aren’t livable, that’s why they can’t hire people.

No.
December 11, 2025 at 1:44 PM
Why can't everyone just scan and enter through the ADA door then, ignoring this absurd tube?
December 10, 2025 at 8:43 PM
Meanwhile, MTA NYCT is discontinuing unlimited fare passes.
December 10, 2025 at 4:38 PM
But there's three weeks to go until MetroCard sales end.
December 10, 2025 at 3:22 PM
When is the last day an unlimited MetroCard cycle can be started, and when is the last day MetroCard will be accepted? We're about three weeks from end of sales date, and there's still no guidance for this.
December 10, 2025 at 3:21 PM
The MTA hasn’t responded to my multiple requests asking them when the last day MetroCards will be accepted, or the last day an unlimited card cycle can be started.
December 10, 2025 at 3:19 PM
The CUNY ASAP program says they offer “Unlimited-Ride OMNY Cards,” so it seems like they actually exist in OMNY form, just not for the general public?
December 10, 2025 at 3:18 PM
There is no one day transit pass here, you'll keep paying $2.90 per ride until you hit a $34 fare cap within a seven-day period, and each person will need their own credit card/OMNY card.
December 3, 2025 at 8:43 PM
When are we going to get guidance regarding final MetroCard usage dates?

If I buy several 30-day cards before December 31, can I keep using them throughout 2026? With previous fare hikes you had to start an unlimited card by a certain date.

When is the last day MetroCard will be accepted?

He's such a lying piece of shit.
December 2, 2025 at 9:00 PM
How so?
December 1, 2025 at 10:43 PM
OMNY, or the old EasyPayXpress program?
December 1, 2025 at 9:14 PM
I was enrolled in the EasyPayXpress program, and would swipe 6-10 times a day on weekdays (bus transfers). They would send a new card out automatically every two years or so. Only thing I did was wipe the card strip with an alcohol swab every month or two, to remove the built up grime.
December 1, 2025 at 8:54 PM
Correct, they're technically discontinuing these two types of fare products, so it's a big unknown that the MTA hasn't provided guidance on, even though there's less than one month left now before they stop selling MetroCards.

I remember getting Japanese sea bass on a first class Acela trip years ago. Not sure if they still do that.
December 1, 2025 at 8:42 PM
You had a 75% failure rate swiping the MetroCard? What?
December 1, 2025 at 8:33 PM
2023 fare hike:

"If you purchase a seven-day or 30-day unlimited MetroCard at the current rate, the MTA says you must begin using it by Aug. 27 to reap the full benefits. If you begin using the pass after that date, you’ll need to request a pro-rated refund for the remaining days in September."
Subway and bus fares will increase starting Sunday
Prepare to dig deeper for your commute across the MTA's networks.

What? I didn't even have to break my walking stride, I could be approaching the turnstile, open my wallet, slide the MetroCard out and into the turnstile, and keep going.
December 1, 2025 at 8:07 PM
What issues did you have with the EasyPayXpress program? For a decade I didn't have to use a MetroCard vending machine, my EasyPayXpress unlimited card was just seamless.
