I'm not saying he's not helping with that. All I'm saying is that I'm focusing on this one good thing that I'm in support of. I try to make it a habit of finding one good thing about everyone I don't like and one bad thing about everyone I do like.

That I will not do. I only encourage the good things in people. @jd-vance-1.bsky.social, like other politicians, is complex. I don't agree with him on everything, but I do applaud him on this.

Yeah, I can see that. And I partially agree. I think the danger would then be calling everyone you don't like or disagree with a Nazi (as a way to justify a potentially undemocratic response to them). Like where's the line.

My fear is that using these labels can become a self-fulfilling prophecy. In fact, we've been trying it as a country for a while now, and it has only gotten worse. That's why I'm on here trying to explore what doing things different might look like.

A reporter once interviewed different baseball umpires about how they call a strike. The first one said that he calls them as he sees it. The second one said he calls them as they are. And the third one said, it's only a strike once I call it.

I'm on X as well. Much of my time on there is telling people on the right to not dehumanize those on the left. The Truth is that you can't reduce people to their identities or ideologies. All humans are always more complex than that.
