Some great classic gospel from Grand Rapids. I found this in the bins at Goodwill and do not own the rights. Some of these songs are only found on this 8-track. Enjoy!

Kentucky Taylor Whiskey. Mmm. Found in a program from the Boston Theatre in 1904 on the AM Explorer database, a really cool place for primary sources.

Greg Williams, who just donated hundreds of millions of dollars to MSU sports and business, is one of the newest Grand Rapids Oligarchs. Like the Devoses, he thinks the city should arrest poor people near his new amphitheater so rich people are not frightened [reposted for spelling].

An example of how AI sucks at research. I queried Gemini about the phrase "Don't go to Michigan, that land of ills; the word means ague, fever, and chills," a 19th c. phrase amongst Michigan settler colonists. It's answer came from one source: The Mackinac Center. WTF?

As a graduate student who has to scramble for funding while doing much of the heavy lifting for gen ed courses, I think these kinds of donations should not be praised. 11 million of 400 million for "education" i.e. the well-funded business school. Oh, and the guy's old partner was pardoned by 47.
