Riding out the twilight of the American experiment. Would probably not survive in a horror movie but more than ready to find out.
Great little spotlight on How to Disappear

"They'll all be back because no one can resist getting all-capped by a sea of Dude Bros and bots... right? They'll be back right?!"

Wow, didn't realize how long it's been since I've seen these. Did you stop doing these posts or did the other site's algo bury them?

"Look out mama, there's an upset coming up Red River". I'll see myself out

Would have been a top tier shirt in the 90s.

79¢ Chilitos (later the chili cheese burrito) was basically currency when you needed a ride after high school.

When one of her first early videos popped up on my fyp,it was an instant follow. Her page has developed into such a moving tribute, while also entertaining and having genuine, thoughtful reactions to each listen. Top tier TT account.

Caught the flu from one of our kids, then spent the entire day Sunday in bed rotating between active puking, riding out nausea and twisty back spasms.

< checks the news >

Yep, been all downhill from there.

Deleting Facebook back in 2016 was one of the most satisfying clicks of all time. Deactivating and deleting Twitter in 2024 is now tied with that feeling. Quite glorious.

I posted on the Mortigi Tempo boards and lurked on atease. There was the whole contrived rivalry between the two and it always seemed so silly. Both boards had some great discussions (and plenty that belongs in the Internet dustbin)

I've considered festivals for some bands, but if I made my way to their stage and caught the set, I think it counts. I wish I could still go see bands like I used to.

That's a terrific description. Great list too, btw. Upstream Colour is one I really need to revisit. Saw it the year it released and felt it deserved a rewatch, but wasn't sure I was ready for it. Then it wasn't available anywhere for a long time.

100% on board with this.

Don't get upset if they want to run your credit, speak with friends or family who were around at the time of the theft, etc. It's just standard investigation steps due to the claim being for an unrecovered theft.

Jorge has it pretty well laid out, but I will add that most rental car coverage ends at 30 days, so most companies will want to get your claim resolved (if resolved as total loss) well before the 30 day max is reached.

Yep, was on there since 2008 and stuck it out for the last few years because there would still be that occasional day of Main Character hilarity, but whoo boy that's no longer a reason to hang on.

Breaking my neck in forceful agreement. It's honestly #1 for me in Songs I Wish I Never Have to Hear Again, Ever.
#2, Brown-Eyed Girl, is a distant second and not even close.

If you're ok with subtitles, I'd enthusiastically recommend When Evil Lurks and MadS, both available on Shudder.

I cannot thank you enough for creating and sharing this novel. The feeling I had while reading it, as if a spell was covering me and preventing me from putting it down, was unlike anything I'd experienced in at least a decade. I first read it over 2 years ago and still think about it all the time.
