Voodoo Gypsy Princess is not happy, dabbles in potions, things get messy.
James Baldwin said, "Artists are here to disturb the peace." He did not say what to do when said peace has been disturbed by the creation of a police state by one's own government, but I'm here to be a peaceful disturber.

Swan's Garden Party: Days of Joy and Innocence 2

It can't all be about rage when there is still beauty to be found and pure intentions, too. Some days, I need buffers as much as I need to be aware.

Code Talker
My code is not so difficult to decipher: I see a country that has gone wrong. To be fair, we've spent our history going wrong and resetting our course, it's just that there are so many things that need protection now that are intentionally being destroyed.

There are monsters afoot. This is not one of them: Gabe, adopted two months ago, full of terrors and neglect. As we work with him toward finding his best self, he is a welcome, loving distraction and member of the family.

I've been trying to act normal lately, all the while feeling like I've had my eyes propped open with those wire things - speculums they are - from A Clockwork Orange and cannot unsee and unthink that people have willingly chosen a monster as the symbol for the American Dream. A new series: Recuerdo

In celebration of today's Winnie the Pooh Day, here's a preview of a thing I'll have tomorrow that I had to do even though it will make many people cringe. A lot. But I can't help that. Not this year.

When I sent out holiday cards this year, for those I thought would get it, I included this David Lynch sticker as a way to make sense of 2025. Not one single person commented. Did they self-destruct in the mail? Did they go unopened? And now he's gone.
Also, I used to do stained glass.

My Broken Heart - Necklace with bronze clay heart by Judie Mountain, porcelain and lampwork glass beads, made by me for a very special, grieving friend. It suits my mood of the past week, so I decided to use it as my BlueSky intro.
