At some point either cause VC funders or other realise this is a complete waste of money or AI growth falters in another way, its going to make the dot-com crash look like a picnic in comparison?

Why do I point this out? Well in the US, the dogma of hyperscaling to make the next big leap in model performance means capital expenditure on AI was larger than all consumer spending this year.
