They're definitely doing it out of care for your well being. Getting help can suck sometimes, especially if you're not used to being open and vulnerable. But, from personal experience, the benefits you'll obtain will outweigh anything an unhealthy coping mechanism can provide.

I know that these are stressful times, but he's getting the medical care he needs right now. He will be alright and back home soon. And, I bet he'll love for you to be the first person he sees when he wakes up. Spend time together and know everything will be alright
