luxury, work is something we do grudgingly, isn’t “real life” and should be made as comfortable as possible separate from that “real life” as to reduce the bleed over as much as possible. IMO the answer is better commutes and better offices but people saw wfh as the answer.

I am of the opinion work from home is bad unless your specific situation really calls for it. Creating a discrete barrier between work life and real life is a good thing actually. Ideally we would all be artisans who lived our ideals fully etc etc but the reality is most of us dont have that

The vast majority of Democratic law makers personally benefit from Republican laws. That is why they don’t want to fight.

them to pass laws that serve the poor? Elections? No because elections are paid for with their own money that can be increased by republican pro-wealth laws. Money? How is helping poor people going to increase their pile? Personal Morals? Thats it but morals can change at the drop of a hat.

are those with a lot of money, therefore our law makers, both democrat and republican are benefited personally by laws that benefit those with a lot of money, meaning democrat law makers are incentivized to get republican backed bills that benefit those with a lot of money passed, what incentivizes

they are. When people say the system is rigged it’s not a vague critique it is rigged like this: campaign finance laws in the US make it so realistically, the majority of successful candidates are going to be those with a lot of money, therefore the majority of law makers, republican and democrat

the fact that I can think of a couple candidates off the top of my head makes me think this will actually happen

“existential threat” implies they are threatening a system that exists. The system is already dead, has been. The lack of urgency is a result of a shell-shocked populace unable to cope with the truth: things are never going to be the way they were.
