He/him
Language, writing, law, games, music. Not necessarily in that order. I try to be a decent human. I have opinions, but I'm always trying to learn more.
I liked Rogue One because it was an homage to old WW2 movies. I didn't like Solo as much because it was heavy-handed "explaining" some origins ("Oh you're alone; Han Solo" (get it?)), but ignored the more interesting (imo) story about how Han became a slave to the crime lord in the first place.

I've been saying for months that we're going to need at least one Truth and Reconciliation commission to repair the institutions Trump and his entourage have broken.

The scary part is that there's a non-zero chance their efforts will succeed.

He wants the streets (in blue cities) to be a battleground, because then he can send US troops in to fight his war on Democrats.

Look, the theme of the ad is the magic of the holidays, right? That obviously applies to trucks as well.

"Don't care" in the sense of "if they are involved, throw them in a deep hole too" I assume

We have always been at war work Moderasia.

If you don't have a perimeter fence, it's OK to stand screaming by any wall in your house or apartment.

The packaging suggests that it is meant to be exculpatory, like, it wasn't the Europeans' fault, the Africans kept selling them slaves, what were they going to do, say no?
November 14, 2025 at 2:59 PM
No, it assumes we are at war without proving that, and then uses that assumption to justify acting as of we are at war work them.

Their audience is the people who will make strategic campaign decisions based on an alleged understanding of what voters will care about.

South Park was well after Beavis and Butthead. B&B blazed the trail that SP turned into a paved highway.
November 13, 2025 at 11:17 PM
Kind of a side note, but in the triggering case at hand, do you think the result would have been different if the poster had added the words "in Reno" to her comment?

Epstein writes emails like AI puts text in a generated image.

College Republicans have always been shameless spiteful assholes.

Aaaaaand now I've broken my promise to myself not to argue with strangers on the internet. I responded to her. Dammit.
November 13, 2025 at 5:22 PM
What's their liability if they don't search their servers for any email that might be to or from or about Epstein? Criminal? Civil? Be specific. When would this liability arise?
November 13, 2025 at 5:20 PM
She seems not to understand that owning and controlling the email servers is distinct from reading the content of emails. Who has the time?
