yeah I mean in the dlc itself you find out the apple was taken to Florence at the end of 12 and then 13 picks up with Ezio finally getting around to going to Florence nine years later. It feels like they wanted to write a really epic story but didn't know how to convincingly portray the time passing

Yeah the end of mission 11 feels like the end of the game, they're a weird diversion in the story and a bit frustrating in a way the main quest isn't. The craziest part is when Ezio says it's been 22 years since his father was killed and it feels like it's been six months
