The second earthquake generates a weak response in Cascadia, but a very strong one along the Northern San Andreas. This second event adds a second layer to the "double decker" turbidite, shown in the CT images.

This shows how a Cascadia earthquake triggers turbidity currents in southern Cascadia (strong), and also along the northern San Andreas (weak). The CT images of cores are shown after this event.

Well, no not really. It adds a small about of stress to Cascadia, but that is happening every day anyway. It tells is the system is running normally, and is a good reminder to keep those preps going for the bigger one.
