Semi-goodly morning, gents. Are we supplying Big Vik enough? Aside from that Saka cross, which you could argue wasn’t “to” anyone specific, and which Gyok was unlucky not to hit, the only decent pass he received was in the 75’ from Trossard. #arsecastextra @gunnerblog.bsky.social @arseblog.com

Semi-goodly morning, gents. Is Martin Zubimendi the grumpiest footballer to get subbed off? I love him and his personality. Every great team has a mountain troll, and I think we finally found ours! #arsecastextra @arseblog.com @gunnerblog.bsky.social

Loved seeing Odegaard step out of the way to clear the path for Sane’s cross

Correct. The people who are against any sort of constructive criticism about Odegaard don’t want to hear “nuance,” though. They just want to build up straw men and ridicule the arguments. It’s a weird cult mentality. Some people seem to have built their entire Arsenal identity around him.

Another game when we had tired legs everywhere on the pitch, and neither Norgaard nor Nwaneri were utilized. Wtf is going on? Will they ever play? @gunnerblog.bsky.social @arseblog.com #arsecastextra

Do you find it surprising that we haven’t seen Calafiori utilized in the left CD position, with MLS as left back? Nothing against Hincapie, but he is still new to the team and to Arteta-ball, and we’re asking him to fill some giant shoes. @gunnerblog.bsky.social @arseblog.com #arsecastextra

A lot of the debate around Odegaard gets brushed aside as hyperbolic and reactionary, for obvious reasons—he’s a hell of a footballer. But is there a good faith argument to be made that on this Arsenal team, Eze must be the default starting 10? @gunnerblog.bsky.social #arsecastextra

I think to appreciate the criticism of MO, you have notice what happens off the ball when he’s in possession. A lot of the criticism gets dismissed as hyperbole, and, to an extent, maybe deservedly so. But very good players are sometimes not the best fit for a team. It’s not crazy to point that out

You mean the 0.1xg? Those shots?

“My childhood heroes” bruh get over yourself
December 6, 2025 at 6:34 PM
Sure, but that’s ignoring that the probability of impact injuries rises when players aren’t given proper rest. That is within our control
December 6, 2025 at 2:53 PM
His decision-making leaves something to be desired
December 6, 2025 at 2:47 PM
I think Martinelli on for Odegaard, move Eze to the right 8/10. We’re too slow with Odegaard
December 6, 2025 at 1:27 PM
I miss Eze as the 10…
December 6, 2025 at 1:23 PM
Especially so when you’re sent off for violent conduct that could break your colleague’s ankle—you know, the sort of thing red cards are designed to punish/prevent

Much as I hate to admit it, his physicality is reminiscent of B Silva

Worst of all, they won the mental game. Got in our heads early on
December 1, 2025 at 5:59 AM
When Eze came off, and Odegaard was our main creator, we looked a lot like the “old” Arsenal: slow, dull, unable to penetrate. And, I know [insert all the mitigating factors]. Can we see the old dominant-Odegaard style Arsenal along with the free-flowing Eze style Arsenal? #arsecastextra

Actually, “how forceful” the contact was does indeed “necessarily matter,” according to the rule’s plain language. It plainly says “unless the force used was negligible.”

It was a soft slap. What Gabriel did to Odegaard on the bench yesterday was more violent. I’ve seen players get choked or punched in the head without a foul, let alone a card, awarded. Also, if you think the slap was violent conduct, why not the initial shove by his teammate? Where’s the line?

Everton’s still dominating lol

All he did was slap him

Such bs

Can’t blame Arteta for the fixture list. Can’t blame him for someone’s predisposition to injuries. What we can blame him for is refusing to sub when we’re 3-0 up at home and at cruise control. Waiting until the 78th & 88th minute to sub and not even using his 5th sub.
