Results from tonight's Flocking #Paleostream! Definitely my favourite batch of sketches I've done during one of these so far, I'm pretty happy with all of them - no doubt helped by being all dinosaurs.

The sauropod dinosaur Amargasaurus in front view. Its head is slightly lowered, mouth open, with its neck reconstructed with a single large hump of flesh atop it. The piece is sketchy and black and white, with rough detailing and shading. A Bajadasaurus biting the neck of a rival. It is a sauropod dinosaur with a long neck (although comparatively short for a sauropod), the front of which has a large hump atop it, adorned with eye spots. Its rival is reeling back as the main individual rakes its teeth down its neck. Dust flies up at the bottom. The piece is in the same back and white sketchy style. A Stegosaurus missing the end of its tail. It is viewed slightly from behind, its neck curving back slightly. The neck has a small dewlap along the underneath, and the whole animal is adorned with its recognisable large plates. The open wound where the tail has been severed is dripping blood. The piece is in the same black and white sketchy style. A portrait sketch of the carnivorous dinosaur Acrocanthosaurus. Only the head, neck and shoulders are shown. Its body is side-on to the viewer, but its head is turning to face almost straight-on. It has a light covering of feathers along the spine. The piece is in the same back and white sketchy style.

And here now the result of the Candeleros formation stream! What a weird place. The part of the formation we depict here is wasn't quite as arid as some of the lower parts of the formation and yet it was dry enough that it makes me wonder... how all the sauropods?

Last time I went to London an Ibis at the zoo tried to eat my shoelaces, yesterday at a local zoo a lovebird and a macaw bit me. I think there's a pattern here.

a Skiphosoura bavarica flies a little above the shoreline of a Solnhofen beach. a line of small organic particles washed up by the waves are seen at the bottom left, with some of the water that deposited them retreating out of frame Skiphosoura is a pterosaur with a large keratin crest on the end of its snout, a proportionally small tail compared to its long-tailed relatives, and an overall more robust build compared to its more gracile relatives

A portrait of the carnivorous dinosaur Dilophosaurus. It's shown side-on, turning to its left to bring its face into view. Its colours are a mix of muted reds and pinkish creams, with notable darker red stripes on the neck. The famous twin crests atop its skull are mostly covered by large air-filled structures, with an almost balloon-like appearance, while the edges of the bones crest are tipped by rows of rounded keratinous spikes. A series of stripes quills stick up from the top of the neck, while the lower areas of the neck show a series of prominent skin folds. Its eyes are a piercing orange, and stand out against the more muted body colours. The background is a textured dark reddish-grey.
