Newest games have a gimmick called Tera Types, where the trainer uses a special ball (what he's holding here) to change the typing of a pokemon. He used it to change his Rotom phone to Dark type, which is immune to Psychic. Thus giving him a way to blackmail the blackmailer, reversing the situation.
