How are active supermassive black holes fueled? And why do they spew out part of the infalling material back into their galaxy?

Check out our new work on the active supermassive black hole in the Circinus galaxy 😀

Black holes don’t suck in anything that comes near them. Material can only fall into one when it’s slowed down somehow.

The Circinus galaxy & the gas falling into its central black hole is one such example.
