Leyendecker is fascinating- almost single handedly invented some staples of American iconography/advertising language and was one of Rockwells mentors so had a huge influence on his style too.

But there’s prob part of the Kimmel/Colbert situation that has to do with convenient excuses for execs to do this for $. Late night has been dying, so why not cancel when, in their minds, it could curry favor too?

Yes his family attending the church NVP was leader of and knew him personally. Young Trump absolutely imbibed new thought/positive thinking- and his whole ‘belief system’ if there is one to parse is basically that. Once you notice you see him do it all the time

Just finished @bschillace.brandyschillace.com The Intermediaries. A gripping read & excellent history of Hirschfeld & his institute, and some of the earliest fleeting transgender histories, like that of Dora Richter. Unfortunately relevant, but filled with hope nonetheless. Read this book!

Just finished @bschillace.brandyschillace.com The Intermediaries. A gripping read & excellent history of Hirschfeld & his institute, and some of the earliest fleeting transgender histories, like that of Dora Richter. Unfortunately relevant, but filled with hope nonetheless. Read this book!
