I played this game a ton as a kid, but had no clue whatsoever how the puzzle pieces worked, so I never came anywhere close to finishing it. Fast forward to last year when it came out for the Evercade, and I finally read the manual and figured it all out, and beat it on the first try after that!

I remember looking into exactly this question a while back, and the best answer I found was Attila the Hun.

I love how they could basically just charge you anything at this point... how would a normal person ever know if the bill is legit? You'd need a customs lawyer to explain any of it, and with the current chaos, I wonder if even *they* have any idea.

"Alright guys, who's ready for some SLIME WORLD!!??"

*Pulls out 8 Atari Lynxes and a stack of Comlynx cables*

A party that no one will ever forget.

Ladybug on the ColecoVision. The weird insect enemies were really creepy, and the "heartbeat" sound increases in speed every level making everything seem more stressful, especially when you were trying to gather the dots around the center before a new bug came out.

I still prefer Ultima VI over VII, and no one can change my mind. Very underappreciated!

Winaero Tweaker does a pretty good job of all that stuff. It's quickly become an essential part of any Windows install for me.

Oh no! Businesses won't come to Bluesky because they can't effectively advertise to me? Those poor companies! 😢

Was there ever any point in reducing it? Like, were people having stability problem or something? I certainly don't recall any.

I also was never sure that the acceleration did a damn thing whatsoever, so it always felt pointless.

Reading this made me imagine commuting to work in a giant mech... but getting stuck in traffic along with all the other people also piloting mechs during rush hour. Walking on the sidewalk to get past the construction would be illegal after all, and the police would chase you in their own mechs.

Reminds me of this series of books I read as a kid... though I don't recall if there was ever an Easter connection...

I played this game so much... and still load it up now and then. Someone already mentioned Arctic Adventure, but also check out Monuments of Mars. It uses the same engine, but instead of being a series of single-screen levels, it has a multi-screen world you can explore.

They say you're only as old as you feel... in which case I'm 837 years old.

This song has been stuck in my head for a while now... it's technically a Mana Khemia song that was remixed for the Atelier Meruru soundtrack release, and I don't think it's actually in the game itself, but it's fantastic anyways:

It always feels weird to see these boards using a "real" CPU just to handle I/O... It's like your computer wasn't good enough, so here's another whole computer to get this done for you.

I used to think sticking RPi's into Amiga's to do things was ridiculous, but we've been doing it all along.

Oh man, the GP2X was so good! I played that thing so much... Modern handhelds are so much better of course, but somehow far less exciting than the GP2X was at the time. I suppose it's just me that's gotten older though...

Could this also be chalked up to vowel shifts over time? Would "here I am" have flowed differently in older forms of English that would have made the contraction more natural?
