First full movie review on my website for a movie I didn't initially for months before I watched it, but I am so glad that I did.

STATS: Average Daily Wordcount: 1,298 Week Total: 9,086 Words to Go: Month: 62,309 (Stretch Goal) Year: 978,975 Well, if I was doing a Quarter Milwordy, I would hit and passed my monthly goal early. This week was the week where academic writing dominated the week. I had two research papers that I wanted to get done before the end of the week, two article discussions, and a presentation and a Spanish writing assignment to prepare for!

If you're reading this, you're probably curious on the context of the video you just watched. So let me give you some. Over the first half of November, I have been working hard on Version 2.0 of Draft Two of my first ever YA urban fantasy novel and series starter, Can You Spell Werewolf? I even mentioned in my last post that my goal for that day that I posted was to write the rest or most of the rest of Act 2A ON THAT VERY SAME DAY.

This week was busier, messier, and definitely not my healthiest… but I still wrote more than Week 1, finished Act 1 of Can You Spell Werewolf?, hit a 10-day streak, and learned my biggest lesson yet: Sometimes you need to say no so you can say yes to your well-being.

Week One of Milwordy is done! I may be 14K words behind, but I made creative progress, met author Chloe Gong, and set new goals for Week Two.

DESTINY SATURDAY AFTERNOON After the meeting, I couldn’t sit still, so I decided to walk outside for a brain break. The air was brisk but gotten a bit colder, with the wind dancing around me. At least I didn’t have to deal with nervous sweat, and the ants in the pants had started to vacate the premises. As I stood there, I thought about the first face-to-face conversation with October.

OCTOBER SATURDAY MORNING When I woke up, I felt like I was being tied down to something solid with my back feeling like it was on fire. I twisted around and saw that I was in some type of cellar under a dim light. “Good, you’re awake,” Jack Trenton’s voice echoed through the cellar. “What did you do to me?” I asked hoarsely.

DESTINY SATURDAY MORNING It was the beginning of a very different Saturday morning, with me walking into the office where where Quincy and Agent Fieldsboro were holed up for the investigation. The office smelled caffeinated and disinfected, making me even more alert than I already was. Today, I was in the room where it happens, on the case. Agent Fieldsboro was already at her desk, scanning reports intently.

OCTOBER THURSDAY EVENING “Let me get this straight. You get a text from a unknown person, who you only know is the Vengenance Queen, a vigilante, after you met her at this remote location outside Mayville, and the first thing you do is meet the person without talking to anyone?” Mom asked, scowling at me across the dinner table.

DESTINY THURSDAY AFTERNOON I was standing in the front lobby of the building, which I thought was pretty much family. But I should have known that even family keeps secrets. Including possibly my uncle and brother, the latter of who I could feel the heat of Quincy’s stare before he even said a word. “Do you have any idea how reckless what you just did was?” Quincy snapped.

OCTOBER THURSDAY EVENING I walked inside the hospital, anticipating my entry into the same room. The same silence behind the door. To see Samantha, the same girl who hadn’t opened her eyes in five months. I didn’t deserve to be in this standing in this hospital, but I was trying to ignore all of the reasons lined up in my head.

DESTINY THURSDAY AFTERNOON After school, I got out of my car and walked towards the place I felt like I knew every inch of by this point. I could feel the sweat clinging to the back of my neck, though it had nothing to do with the heat. I walked fast, but not too fast. Just casual. I was just a girl coming back to pick something up from work.
