I've never given Van Halen the credit they deserve in my life's soundtrack. I wasn't the biggest fan of the Van Hagar years. Possibly blame Iron Maiden or 80s Metallica and maybe Slayer, and then Death Metal. But oh mama, gimme those early albums 🤘

Swung back by L'Auberge St. Gabriel to snap a better photo of the exterior. I figured while I was there, I might as well pop in and see if Rida was in, to thank him again for such a memorable evening. As luck would have it, he was. Dressed down a bit, as was I.

We finally went for a walkabout in Old Montreal. 1st stop was Notre Dame Basilica. Whoa!!! I'm not religious. The interior was magnificent! We're going back there tonight for Aura. They light the interior up. Not 100% sure what I'm going to see. It's supposed to be quite stunning though.

L'Auberge St. Gabriel was better than Nikki or I expected! The building itself was magnificent. The food was out of this world! And Rida, the gentleman who took care of us this evening... I have not met, in all my years in restaurants, someone better than Rida.
