Another dream last night of my mom so vivid so real that for a split second of awakening, I thought she was here on earth. Such a glorious moment, a fleeting reprieve gone before taking my 1st breath, leaving me sorrowing for the rest of the day

Ever try changing your sheets with a cat in the room? Rafa looks so adorable even when he "attacks" my arm when I try to move him

My betta Efrén. He was gray and near death at Petco. Nursed him back to health with methylene blue dips for ammonia poisoning. For exercise he chases laser beam around tank like a cat. He loves to watch videos of tropical reefs on my iPhone. When he sees me setting it up, he gets excited. Too cool!

1 year ago Rafa had a large tumor removed. A biopsy showed he had large cell lymphoma-a very aggressive form of cancer-and only 9 months to live. 9 months later my vet was shocked to see Rafa so healthy with no sign of tumors. Yesterday-1 yr after 9 month prognosis:
