Why not? Much shittier countries like China and ruzzia hosted Olympics no problems. IOC is a shitty organization and Olympics is a shitty event, suits the US very well.

Oh it's fine, Americans have their 2nd amendment helping them against tyrannical governments. Or so I've been told hundreds of times by Americans. So I assume everything's gonna be fine.
