You might notice the face jumps at the end. I actually painted him twice. The first version (Left) felt too soft similar to the Salvator Mundi, but it lacked Griffith's bright, cold charisma. I painted over it to sharpen the structure, but forgot to save the progress shots 🥲

The pose itself borrows from Da Vinci's Salvator Mundi. But instead of holding the Crystal Orb (The World), Griffith clutches his helmet. It symbolizes that the "salvation" he offers is ultimately just a vessel for his own personal dream.

I took heavy inspiration from Albrecht Dürer, specifically how he depicted himself as Christ in his self-portrait. While Dürer did it to symbolize artistic humility, giving Griffith this same God-like stance highlights the exact opposite: his pure narcissism and God Complex.
