I'm sure Kent State and Columbia and Google all just forgot to engage with their ideological opponents in the free marketplace of ideas and have a debate on the issues

Baseball rules for this reason. I can go to an afternoon game at Citi Field this Thursday for, like, $15. Who cares who they're playing? If I can watch three frat bros get ejected for disorderly conduct while drinking horse piss beer, I get my money's worth and then some

I was a student of one of the Columbia schools from 2019-2021. I left with the sense that Columbia is a group of lawyers protecting a brand which just so happens to offer an education-like product. This is not dissuading me of such notions.

I took a class in college 10-15 years ago called Catholicism in America. Most of the class was raised Catholic and had no concept of the difference between a Catholic, Christian, and Protestant until they got to college. It was not a religious school - Catholics just don't talk about Protestantism

In an extremely unrelated note, thank you for teaching me the word invidious with this post. It's a fun word and one I hope to use now that I know that it exists

I'd more say "be realistic." Honestly, I'd ask *any* student to have a plan, STEM or otherwise. If you want to study English, or Computer Science, or Upholstery Maintenance, great! Now let's make a plan to ensure you can make money, even if your job isn't connected to your major.

I'm in a Pandemic Legacy game with friends and a Gloomhaven game online.

Both are slow, but they are progressing. We've had times where we skip months for life reasons and some where we meet frequently.

Keep something on the calendar, even if it needs to be adjusted, and you'll make progress.

Thank you - I realized this far too late into the episode. I was sitting there furiously searching thinking I forgot someone important!
