And what do we know about the effects on populations? Could this ultimately skew the selection of individuals who can have offspring, as well as social dynamics?

I wonder... are the long-term effects on populations and the environment being taken into account? Medicines are not harmless; can't traces of them be found in urine?
Can't they pollute the soil, waterways and carcasses consumed by other predators? Isn't there an underestimated risk here?

Roadside hawks are one of the more vocal raptors especially during courtship and aerial displays.
