Yep - a friend whose company works for the federal government. They got a stop work order and that was immediately reversed but now he’s out looking for a job at a private company because it’s destabilizing to worry about rent and healthcare. Cant stick around for shenanigans like that.

Ok but I’d still rather feed the people we have than research this stuff. No travel to the = no Teflon but we’d still plenty o hacks about how to clean our cast iron so I think we’d survive.

I don’t know of a single thing that guy is right about except maybe having generational wealth is the single most effective path to “legitimacy” and political power despite any cognitive and moral deficits.

When our kids couldn’t eat what was served for safety reasons (life threatening allergies) we did this. We do this now that they’ve been desensitized because of their dietary choices (vegetarian) and their need for foods that meet their sensory needs.

I wouldn’t call myself wise. Also wouldn’t consider religion totally false. I just think humans are too stupid to know and should therefore leave it alone and live with uncertainty.

I take the extreme weird path tyvm. My nieces are like “ your brother has dementia” and after I talk with him I’m like “no he just does thing in a way that makes everyone ask “why””. Makes sense to us while we do it but all others are mad about it.

As much as I’m thankful for my family and friends on this day I’m also so distressed about how we got here. I’m thinking and feeling about the indigenous people in the us who were killed and “converted “ in residential schools. There was real evil in that - and that evil persists to this day.
