Being a teacher in Texas is damn near impossible. I have to have the 10 commandments in my room, students aren't allowed any phones (this is good and bad), and I'm not allowed to have any discussion about gender or sexual orientation (I've always been a safe place for my students). I hate it here.

Couldn’t afford to buy eggs for breakfast this weekend. Also need to find money to get gas this weekend. On top of it all my washing machine isn’t working so I have to scrape coins to go to a laundromat. As a teacher, shouldn’t I be able to afford these little things? #stillhateithere

The international bridges from Juarez to El Paso are currently closed and being blocked by police and military as a “precaution.” It’s a three day weekend. A lot of my students went to visit relatives in Mexico and will be heading home today. I guess I should expect a few absences tomorrow.
