Man, I’m no good at this blue sky thing. This was supposed to be about Andrew Hickey in response to your post on Carlos Ward (at least I figured out that it’s not pronounced “blooskie.” I’m making progress).

His piece on Louie Louie identifies the Pacific Northwest in the late 50's/early 60's as the locus of the shift of rock n roll being a Black guy at a keyboard to a White guy with a guitar. The arranger he credits for allowing this to happen is none other than Carlos Ward.
