i am sure i was not in anyone's imagination while this was being made. my life looks nothing like this, but still i loved this show.

to me the show is about the fundamental wish to be extremely honest battling with the habit of keeping secrets, developed in childhood, to keep people happy - and breaking out of that mould into a strange wasteland of relationships

but it's incredibly comforting. it feels like it might be too much access to someone's life, but at least for me it keeps enough hidden, it makes enough of a fiction and has enough of a specific angle that i can see it and not feel bad

there hasn't been anything that jerrod carmichael has produced that I haven't enjoyed, but i doubted so much that i would be able to watch this
