They are already slashing away at NDIS plans in ways they claim they are not.

I got knocked back because the report I had didn't address hypothetical, unspecified treatments the NDIA imagined I hadn't tried. I lost a GP because he decided he didn't want to deal with stupid questions from the NDIA anymore. Non-experts are already in charge of what supports people get.

Where was this energy from the right when Charlie Kirk was speaking ill of the dead?

Indexation doesn't = cost-of-living relief.

This is posturing to appeal upper/middle-class people who don't depend on these payments or understand how they actually work.

Don't use people in poverty to prop up your image when you are not actually doing anything to help them.

Yep, they actively picked the people with the smallest plans cost-wise to make a public thing of.

It's also making actual communication worse. If AI is being used to "simplify" something it invariably misses important details. People trying to save a buck using AI to translate their information instead of real people for plain language or Easy Read are creating a greater information divide.

Here's hoping the whole concept collapses in on itself sooner rather than later.

The reason self-identified "incels" chose that term was precisely because they *want* a choice in the matter, i.e. control over the bodies of women who would rather not. That implication is not an accident, it's precisely what makes them reprehensible.

And you would be wrong.

There's also no feminist ideology that takes issue with men being single. It's just not a thing.
August 2, 2025 at 8:35 AM
It's not a feminist term at all. It's literally a name that a group of men came up with to describe themselves. Feminists only started talking about incels as a problem after self-identified incels started going more public with manifestos and mass shootings.

Men who are mad at women for not sleeping with them started a "we hate women" club and adopted the term "Incel" to describe themselves. It doesn't apply to every man struggling to get a date.

This! There's a whole industry of abled people telling abled people to hire more disabled people without actually having a real conversation about what inclusion looks like, and everyone just ticks off the "inclusion training" box on their KPIs and continues as they were. Funded by our tax dollars.

They listened to service providers and prioritised what the public would find palatable when making changes, rather than actually working with PWD. Colour me shocked it's not working.

If they are looking for a reason, they will find a reason. What "smart" approach will work here?
June 8, 2025 at 8:22 AM
Honestly, I need what the NDIS is supposed to provide: mobility scooter upkeep and support workers. I'm not on the NDIS because they decided I might hypothetically have been offered treatments that I hypothetically refused by doctors I haven't seen for over 15 years, and I had no way to disprove it.
June 3, 2025 at 11:59 PM
Yep, they got this result by being the moderate option on both sides of politics.
May 4, 2025 at 12:22 AM
But it's much harder to have a feel good event where everyone congratulates each other for being so good and charitable if there are actual disabled people in he room. Disabled people are so critical! They ruin the vibe.
April 28, 2025 at 11:43 PM
I managed to reach that goal in my 20s lol
April 23, 2025 at 8:53 AM
Whether it's true or not is not the point. What's disturbing is his criteria for valuing human beings, and the focus on making people the same rather than supporting all people to thrive.
April 20, 2025 at 12:28 PM
Mostly A. Same with workplace adjustments. There's genuine surprise when disabled people don't accept, or have to leave, a job because there's a deep down assumption that it was a preference, not an actual access issue.
