To be fair I don’t think he’s doing it for the LOLs - it’s a classic use of irony that uses cognitive dissonance to underscore grotesque hypocrisy. In that sense, it is serious, just as Slaughterhouse Five was serious about the firebombing of Dresden even while raising an occasional smile.

You can use race in deciding legitimate targets for being terrorized on the street by masked thugs, just not in determining who gets to benefit from elite universities. Message is pretty clear; they can use race to harm brown people but not to help them.
