A colleague used BOM data from RAAF Richmond to count the number of days with a temperature of 38°C or above since 1960. By decade:
1960s - 44 days
1970s - 58 days
1980s - 60 days
1990s - 65 days
2000s - 99 days
2010s - 107 days

So 38°or above is now 2.5 times more likely than it was in the 1960s.
