English is far from being my mother tongue, but it seems to me that in this title ‘lost’ is used in the sense of ‘damned, doomed to rot in hell’, rather than referring to ‘the good old days now gone’.

While the two journalists were later reinstated, the comedian never returned to public television. Autocratic distortions, unfortunately, do not revert to normality. Berlusconi is gone, but Berlusconism remains. Trump will go, but Trumpism will endure for decades

Once, a missionary told me that that village was every missionary’s dream: a place still almost entirely to be converted. For many years, I asked these people why it would be better for nomadic pastoralists to abandon their religion and become Christians. No one was ever able to give me an answer.
