Nonco died on June 6, 1977—fittingly, on the Feast of the Sacred Heart, the devotion that shaped his entire life.

His witness reminds us that holiness isn’t reserved for clergy or religious; it’s the call of every Christian.

Servant of God Auguste “Nonco” Pelafigue, pray for us!

Nonco’s missionary zeal lit hearts on fire.

He walked or rode his bike from town to town, teaching the faith, leading the Rosary, and inviting people to consecrate themselves to the Sacred Heart.

His life shows that every baptized person is called to share Christ’s love right where they are.

At her grave, I prayed for the seminarians of the Diocese of Lexington, for an increase in vocations, and for those still discerning God’s call.

It’s good to have “big sisters” in heaven who never stop praying for us!

Servant of God Charlene Richard, pray for us!

The Church calls her “Servant of God,” the first step in the canonization process. Many have sought her intercession—asking her to pray for them before God—and countless graces have been reported through her prayers.

For a silent auction, several members of the English department at the college I attended each donated a book that changed their lives. I won the basket of books. My advisor contributed The Hobbit, so I read it.
