(Also: last post for now, but Trip and the sun gazers could be connected to Gaians in the same way the Babylonian birds descended from genies. If they’re Gaians, it would make sense to have 2 dragons on opposite sides of the same coin. The Gaians may very well be dragons.)

That Gaia temple on the top right also loosely looks like a number of structures on little planet, and they made looser connections before in frontiers with the ancients and places in sonic 3

You may think they arent thinking this deep into it, but Ian Flynn came up with the theory about time eater being a reborn Mephiles, this is absolutely something within his line of thinking. I think I really might be onto something here.

What if these instances are introducing these ideas to newcomers before the next game? After all, we thought Sage and Eggman mentioning SA2, Heroes, The Black arms and the Babylonians were out of place at the time, but 3 of these 4 topics have been used up to this point.

I think, if crossworlds has a story, itll focus hard on the Babylonians, and Frontiers 2 will focus on little planet and the Gaians. Remember the out of place time stones reference in the sonic generations rewrite, and little planet showing up in the DC X Sonic crossover comic?

I mean, there's literally a stage called "Digital Dimension" in Shadow's game. Babylon garden also looks suspiciously similar to these structures found in an advert that was clearly used as a basis for Sonic CD, which could loosely imply a connection to the Gaians as well.

Well, we do actually see another floating island come about during the events of Sonic Riders, Babylon Garden. The Babylonians are an ancient civilization of... genie... birds... In riders, it says a boy received an angel wing, and with it, he was able to rule the world.

Now, thinking back to how the master emerald flung the island into the sky, this special stage island is THE ONLY OTHER TIME we see a floating island. What if this island contains some kind of Master Time stone intended to neutralize the time stone's power in emergencies?

I could see Sonic realizing this and struggling with the idea that some far more advanced world has planned his every step. If my theory about chaos and gaia energy being one in the same is correct, it would make sense for an Ancient to become Perfect Chaos.

This also would mean the Ancients and/or The Gaians intended for the Chao to be around during the knuckles clan, have the master emerald reawaken its ancient DNA and become base form Chaos, then take in the negative power of the chaos emeralds to become perfect chaos.

This would be a backup set up by the Ancients and to some extent, the Gaians. Since the Gaians are time travelers, they had to know the Knuckles tribe would misuse the emeralds. That means, this point in time was critical for the planet's survival, and they couldn't interfere.

Now think about why Angel Island floats. In Adventure it was said to be because of Perfect Chaos' rampage, the backlash energy from the master emerald flung the island into the sky, assumedly in hopes of separating its power from the rest of the world.
