My favourite image of Ely Cathedral which I took this morning. Soft dawn pink colours behind the cathedral and the city of Ely, Cambridgeshire
This morning I took my drone to Ely & sent it up to capture Ely Cathedral. Dawn skies fill the flat fenland skies with shape and colours. The Highest part of the cathedral is the West Tower followed by the Octagon. These stand proud in the sky and the building can be seen from miles in any direction. In the foreground many quaint buildings can be seen along with trees.

Frosty colourful sunrise at Wicken Fen National Trust. It was -1 but felt colder today. @chrispage90.bsky.social @stormhour.bsky.social #sunrise #frosty @nationaltrust.bsky.social
It was a very cold -1 today on the Cambridgeshire fens but worth the effort. The sunrise was full of drama and many different shades. The frosted boardwalk leads to the historic Windpump. This Windpump has all four sails but the canvas parts are rolled up in the winter months. The Windpump is made of wood and alongside it is a water filled dyke edged by reeds.

A drone shot taken with a small DJI mini pro 4 which weighs 249 grams. It was taken today just after sunrise but while the sky was still full of cloud and colours. Ely Cathedral is the focal point and it towers above Ely. It’s surrounded by cottages and parkland with trees looking bare.

Ely Cathedral stands against a stunning sky full of texture with a horizontal line of colour on the horizon. Trees in the foreground are almost bare but add interest to this image. The cathedral has Mary turrets like a fairy tale castle & stained glass windows can be seen on the Lady chapel on the right.

My photograph of Ely Cathedral was in last week’s Amateur Photography magazine as their photo of the week. I’ve now received my prize of a framed photograph which I will post once I have photos of myself holding it 😊
This is a drone shot of Ely Cathedral in Cambridgeshire UK I took it just after sunrise in beautiful early morning light which makes the cathedral glow. The angle of the image shows the surrounding cottages& shrubbery plus a few trees. I took this low enough so that the cathedral stands proud of the skyline which I preferred rather than overhead.

Taken by drone this image shows a Christmas market marquee to the left of the building. Just before sunrise there was a band of light behind the building and light shines through the door & nearby Kings School.

The Angel of the North sculpture standing proud above the horizon. I took it at sunset last week and there’s a band of trees all around the sculpture which glow in light. It’s absolutely massive and magnificent.

Sea glass from my recent visit to Seaham UK but the shells are mine for display #seashells #shells
I have used an ornate spiky shell to display sea glass which I picked up from beaches in Seaham. The sea glass has been worn smooth in the sea which takes about 30 years.

This landscape image is of a big field of ripe pumpkins. I went after dinner and luckily there was a vibrant sunset on the flat horizon. I took this in Welney which is just inside Norfolk from Cambridgeshire. The lone tree is a small to medium oak tree which makes a great focal point silhouetted against the sky.

I took this photo of Ely Cathedral at sunrise this morning. It was taken with a drone and the West Tower rises above the light mist and sunrise colours. Unfortunately there’s scaffolding in the front of the cathedral & lights can be seen in the windows of the buildings in the foreground.

Criccieth yesterday afternoon was sunny & mild, rain today 🙁
This is Criccieth looking back from the beach. A pretty seaside town with a castle on the hill, great fish & chip shops & Cadwalders ice cream shop worth visiting. The sun shone on the sea with a lone swimmer wading out ready for his swim. A line of faint clouds in the background & a reflection of the man in the foreground. On the sandy beach there’s a rivulet leading to the sea. Huge rocks are scattered around causing deep circular holes & sandy ridges caused by the waves. I got down low to take this image as there was an interesting cone of wood surrounded by pebbles on the beach. It was probably once a full sized post or groyne.

59 mph winds at Criccieth tonight and huge 20 ft waves washed right across the road. iPhone image as I got soaked watching from a safe distance #StormAgnes
Strong winds caused huge waves right across the road at Criccieth tonight. It was difficult to stand upright and I got soaked through. Storm Agnes affected North Wales with 50 mph winds.

Ely Cathedral from above in light mist earlier this month #dronephotography
This is a drone photograph of Ely Cathedral on a misty morning earlier this month. This medieval building is magnificent and the West Tower shows clearly through the mist. The Octagon is in the centre with twin turrets each side.
