Would like to identify these, growing profusely on a hill side near Córdoba in southern Spain. About 10cms, bowed over as it was windy. Probably a bulb, reminds me of ipheion but flowering early November. White with yellow heart, grass like foliage .🌱

Currently reading Dodie Smith’s I Capture the Castle, 1949, but set in 1931-32. A long time favourite so delighted that it’s been chosen for November in my book club. Food and clothes feature 💙📚

Foliage Garden at RHS Wisley, Surrey, UK, looking excellent with autumn colours appearing. No need for flowers! Sculpted toucans and macaws enjoy the splashing from the fountain

Saw this new hardy geranium at RHS Wisley garden on Friday. Still full of eye catching flowers and a nice compact shape. Being much admired including by me 🌱

In the Alicante province of Spain many towns have a Palmeral or palm grove. This one in Elche was laid out around the 10th century AD when the city was built. And when much of the Iberian peninsula was Arab. The original elaborate irrigation systems are still used. A UNESCO World Heritage Site. 🌱

Autumn cliche but a wall of Virginia Creeper (Parthenocissus quinquefolia) is glorious even though it’s a bit of a thug. Also on that wall - winter- flowering clematis cirrhosa and Lasurstern for the spring 🌱

Pic taken from above to show the nice new growth on this Hylotelephium (formerly sedum) Little Dove. Bought from the Hardy Plant Society as one their Plants to Conserve. Growing it on a bit before planting out. 🌱

Nice surprise. Very late, for UK, autumn flush of flowers and new leaves on an old wisteria sinensis. Main flowers are in spring with some extras in July. 🌱

This year hardly any winged insects have used our “bee hotel”. Very popular in early years. Still sited in the same place - chest height, quiet sunny spot. Fewer birds about too

Portrait of a artist as gardener. Detail from the mural by Rex Whistler in the dining room at Plas Newydd on Anglesey Wales. He was killed in WW2 before he could finish all the details. His masterpiece
